You should put Block Rating on your blade, so you can put extra Crit Power on your Hammer. You will only be swinging the hammer for a second every 8 seconds anyway, so that very brief loss of block shouldn't matter.

Also, no more than 7500 health is needed, in fact you can often go lower. Spend the rest on attack rating.

This is very commonly used tanking build. It will allow you to put up a pretty decent amount of damage, for a tank, and still retain just the level of survivability you need.

How it works

You will use the 12 Gouge passive to apply Debilitated on the boss. Make sure to have at least 600 penetration rating, as that passive will only trigger when you penetrate. You can craft a penetration anima to help with that. Stimulants and Kickbacks are also very useful to boost your penetration rating.

Unstoppable Force can be used at the beginning of fights to lower damage while you build up Debilitated. You can swap it with Master’s House if you want more damage though.

Full Momentum can be swapped with Martial Discipline if you need more damage mitigation.

If you’re tanking a slow-attacking, but hard-hitting boss like the Ur-Draug, make sure to not use your hammer when it’s about to strike you, as your block rating will be lower if you’ve put block rating on your blade, when using a hammer ability. Timing is key here.

    Why not Aftershock instead of Bone Breaker? BB doesn’t really do anything anyway, Aftershock gives you minor ward.

    Personally I like Stonewall instead of Full Momentum, but that’s only because my gear sucks and I need all the block I can get…

      Bone Breaker deals 10% more damage to weakened targets.

      Feel free to replace specific abilities. This is only a suggestion. If you need more defence, then get Stonewalled or Martial Discipline. However, you shouldn’t overstock on defence. Try to push your limits and fuel whatever you can into doing more damage. :)

    Hey, could someone explain how to get recommended stats with only recommended gear please? I’m nowhere near those stats with ql 10 purple gear and glyphs, even with some 10.1 thrown in there

      You will need around 10.4 to reach those stats completely. Focus on Block Rating and Hit Rating first. :)
