DESCRIPTION

The blade version of Blood magic. A primarily melee oriented survival build that makes use of Blood Magic and impairs to enhance your Penetrating hit chance.

SITUATIONAL ABILITIES

Below you will find a couple of abilities that you can replace something with based on the situation you find yourself in.

Elemental Force

Allows you to make use of crit power, particularly effective against single strong enemies. If your penetration rating is very high, you can replace Dark Potency with this passive.

Martial Discipline & Regeneration

Provides you with extra survivability and emergency healing.

Arterial Pulse

Can add more damage output to the build. If your hit rating is very high, you can replace Paradigm Shift with this passive. Your penetration rating must be high if you want to be able to benefit sufficiently from this passive.

HOW IT WORKS

Bloodsport will allow you to trigger Gross Anatomy and deal extra damage with just about every single hit, making for a truly powerful combination. If you open a fight with Clearing the Path, you will actually be able to benefit from the +40% penetration chance from hitting afflicted targets as well.

Through the use of blood shield this build allows you to build up resources for your Blood Magic consumer Guts and Gory.

As stated above prior to combat heal yourself with blood shield to gain up to 5 resources for your blood consumer.

Engage the enemy with your impair to Apply affliction and exposed:

Impair the enemy
Cast Guts and Gory x1 while the enemy is impaired to receive the major penetration buff.
Builder x1
Guts and Gory x2

Make sure to spread out your impairs in order to maximize the up-time of major penetration chance.

Martial Discipline acts as defensive cooldown but could be replaced for Anaestesia as another impair (Don’t forget to replace regeneration if you’re using it).

    I used this with 10.2/3 DPS gear and 1 10.4 Heal rating talisman and eased my way through the new tokyo zone, thanks for the build! +1 :)

    Edit: I replaced blood shield with the scarlet arts to sustain myself through tokyo towards the Oni missions. Try it :)

      As much attack rating as possible.
      A major heal rating talisman.
      Penetration rating glyphs.

      Of course you need some hit rating as well.

        There is no Dark Potency passive, but the passive for Martial Discipline—Regeneration—as far as I can see.

    Since you are using Blade Torrent, is there a reason you aren’t using Perfect Storm over Bloodsport? It seems the 18 damage per second for 8 secs is more consistent damage than the 6 per second for 3 second that stacks 3 times and wipes when you glance? It seems at it’s best, Bloodsport will be a weaker version of Perfect Storm, only worth using if you swap out Blade Torrent for another frenzy builder. Sure it will apply on any hit skill, but you will use your builder once every 8 seconds anyway.

      Bloodsport is better because you every attack you perform will activate Gross Anatomy to deal additional damage, instead of just when using Blade Torrent. And especially when combined with Paradigm Shift, you will rarely glance. Also, you can even open combat with Clearing the Path and benefit from its +40% penetration chance against afflicted enemies. Bloodsport + Gross Anatomy is very common for strong solo builds and is quite powerful.
