Once you have completed the entire story arc from this issue, you can replay this mission from the start location shown above.

First off, this is a fantastic mission; the best one in the game so far in my opinion. Therefore, I have done my best to not expose the story development in this walkthrough. The mission is pretty straightforward since it’s so story-heavy; it will guide you through by itself, however, this walkthrough will explain the basics of certain mechanics and fights, but it will skip specific story fragments.

Tier 1

Objective: Pick up the room key

It’s on the counter. There is no going back now.

nightmareinthedreampalace_2

Objective: Enter the AV Suite

Head for the stairs and go to the top floor. The AV Suite is through the first door you see.

nightmareinthedreampalace_3

Tier 2

Objective: Investigate the AV Suite

Interact with the various items in the room.

nightmareinthedreampalace_4

Objective: Leave the AV Suite

Keep going until you end up somewhere else.

nightmareinthedreampalace_6

Objective: Explore the Dreamscape

Follow John into the building.

nightmareinthedreampalace_7

If you’re trying to go down, that’s not going to get you anywhere. Go up.

nightmareinthedreampalace_8

You will gradually become intoxicated as you go on. Don’t worry, it won’t kill you. You will soon get into a fight with someone familiar.

Avoid his cone attack to get the Flawless Victory achievement. Be on the alert for when your intoxication messes with your keyboard movement keys.

nightmareinthedreampalace_9

Keep going. What lies ahead of you will put your concentration to the test.

nightmareinthedreampalace_10

Skipping ahead a bit, for story reasons, you’ll end up in the park with Ricky Pagan. You will have a dance-off. Immitate his dance moves.

nightmareinthedreampalace_13

We’re going to skip ahead quite a bit again. No need to go through the story here, you can do that ingame. You will reprise your fight against Freddy Beaumont. The fight is similar, but there are some differences. For instance, he has a cybernetic shield and will deal cybernetic AEGIS damage to you. He also has a lot less health than before and because of that, he will skip certain mechanics if you kill him too fast.

If he spawns two hounds, you need to kill them before you can finish him off.

nightmareinthedreampalace_20

Next up is the Black Pharaoh. He has a demonic shield here. Again, all the original mechanics are in, but if you deal a lot of damage to him fast, he will skip some of them.

nightmareinthedreampalace_21

Last, but not least, there is Mara. She has a psychic shield and will cast the massive blast attack. Hide behind one of the statues. Once she is getting low on health, she will start casting AoE attacks all over the floor.

nightmareinthedreampalace_22

At the end, you’ll be near the tunnel entrance to the Orochi Tower.

nightmareinthedreampalace_24

Go into the light to wake up.

the 10.1 talisman is an occult… not a luck

    • Vikestart

Ops, just a minor oversight :)

  • tanuki

It’s not ”skipping ahead’ to perhaps give a tip or two on the Lilith fight.

    • Vikestart

Not sure how much there is to say though. You just need to kill the skulls. A ranged build might help so you don’t have to run around that much.

I was able to do it with Blade/Hammer, but that was just ad libbing, as I was expecting melee combat. Died once when she focused her eye flames on me for too long, but after that I ran around like an idiot swinging my sword in circles and it eventually did the trick. If I’d had an AR/Ele,build for instance, it would have been easier. You still need to avoid ground targeted attacks, though.

This whole mission was a very fun and interesting time.

I will say that I could not figure out, for the life of me, what emotes to use in the Ricky Pagan dance off. After about 20 minutes, the mission just advanced to the next phase. I’m not super emote knowledgeable, so it might be helpful to post which emotes to use.

For future familiarity, type /dance and hit tab, and check out the dances. I don’t know if the order is standard or not, but there was definitely a “good job” sound + clapping from the gang when I matched.

      • Cédric Giraud

Do you need any mod for that? typing /dance an hitting tab doesn’t do anything at all for me.

    • ziboo

The /dance hit tab as mentioned will bring up the dances you know. I guessed pretty much on which ones (some I knew), and just copied Ricky. I figured he seemed satisfied as he went to a new dance!

  • ziboo

Fun quest. Definitely not alot of ‘clues’ on what to do, but it was very well done. Takes you back on some of the fights too!

  • Travis

You missed the “Dance-Dance Execution” and “Only the Oni” for avoiding yakuza gunfire and killing 9 Oni in the Dreamscape respectively. Both mildly difficult due to the increasing frequency of control swapping.

  • Yummy Bear

    Dances: funkychicken, runningman, sprinkler, samba

    • Jason Padgett

Thank you, for saying which ones to do because I had no idea. this is something they really ought to have added.

    • Cédric Giraud

Not working at all for me, except the first one. It says other ones doesn’t exist. :/

  • Jason Padgett

for Lilith you need to keep john alive. if too many skulls hit him than you lose. Losing two or three rounds and it skipped ahead for me. I might of gone with a ranged and fist combo if I were to do it again so that I could shoot the skulls from afar and if any got through I could heal him.
