Suggested Auxiliary Abilities
Ability Ability Crack! + Whiplash is great for increasing the damage the enemy takes, especially with a binding signet on the whip.
Gear Stats
Putting less into Crit Power and more into Crit Rating, you should definitely have a purple Signet of Laceration to make up for that. You can also use a Coney Island Band for more crit power if you want, but I got better results without it.

How it works

This is a very efficient scenario DPS build in Duo Nightmare scenarios when playing together with someone else that has a tanky setup, or in Group Nightmares when playing together with at least a tank and a dedicated healer, as you can’t take a lot of damage with this build.

The Finish the Movemement passive ability will let you continuously spam Chop Shop (or Dancing Blade for single targets), without having to use a builder. With the proc based passives, you will hit your targets at least 4 extra times every time you hit them and every hit can critically hit and penetrate with good solid stats.

If your critical rating isn’t that high yet, you can replace One in the Chamber with Salt in the Wound temporarily, as procs that don’t proc is a waste.

Yes, this is a close range DPS build, so be careful. Quite a few enemies in scenarios have AoE attacks (particularly ghouls and cultists), so try to keep at least a few metres between you and the enemies if you’re up against those type of enemies.

Just keep spamming Chop Shop (or Dancing Blade for single targets). Activate the boosts when you feel there’s need for them. You can also use use Lightning Manifestation and Ice Manifestation every now and then to deal more damage and the Elemental Fury boost which makes you deal even more damage.

Does this actually work as written? Sure you get a bunch of potential procs every .5 seconds as opposed to every second with the global cooldown, but aren’t those procs limited to 1 per second anyways? And even if so, does the damage gained from not having to use builders outpace the damage gained from using full 5 resource spenders?

    • Vikestart

Yes, I’ve been using this build myself in NM duo and NM group. Yes, procs are limited to 1 per second per target, but Chop Shop is a multi-hit that will give you more chances to trigger the procs. You’ll have close to 100% uptime on the procs, especially with Lightning Manifestation or Steel Echo up.

Only use the builder every now and then to build 2 resources for Lightning Manifestation.

Beautiful, thank you for the quick response!

I’m actually not QUITE up to Scenarios yet (starting solo questing in Transylvania at the moment) so I’m adapting this to have a bit more self-healing in it. Here’s what I’ve got so far – any input would be appreciated! (All substitutions are marked in parenthesis)

        Steel Echo
        Lightning Manifestation
        Bamboo Cutter
Martial Discipline (in place of Ice Manifestation, for some survivability)
        Dancing Blade
        Chop Shop
        Master’s House

        Finish the Movement
        Sudden Return
        Gross Anatomy
Salt in the Wound (in place of One in the Chamber, as discussed in “How It Works”)
Regeneration (in place of Fortunate Strike. Fortunate seemed like the most replaceable proc here, since it’s only a 10% chance)
Dark Potency (in place of Iron Maiden. My penetration rating isn’t THAT high currently, so I assume the flat number boost would be more helpful. Can’t find any breakpoints or info online about when Maiden overtakes Potency in terms of effectiveness)
