I think the title of this build describes everything I would have written here except with less words, and now that I wrote down more words just to state that… I’ll get down to business.

I really like having an impair, gives me a sense of control. You’ll have to see for yourself if you do better with impair or with the recommended abilities.

Sleight of Hand

Pesky hotel bugs, pesky shotgun scare crows, pesky shotgun cultists, don’t get me starting on the vampires and fauns.

Vampires like to use major hit so Martial discipline isn’t very reliable in wave 1 (can get them in wave 2 as well)

Iron Maiden

I prefer damage, when accustomed to solo group scenarios more damage is the way to go. I replace resilient defender for Iron Maiden.

This build has a lot of damage output for the amount of survivability it grants, in scenarios groups of mobs are easily dispatched but the bigger mobs with annoying abilities tend to provide some challenge.

In order to solve this issue Molten Steel should be applied to your enemies faces or unmentionables, the increased single target DPS will increase your damage against bosses as well.

Blade and Hammer consumers can be used at the start of a fight as resources regenerate outside of combat.

Unstoppable Force is quite glorious, the low cooldown, Heal that can critically hit and immunity to most crowd control in scenarios makes this by far my favorite elite active. It can be activated while you’re impaired as well, often saving your life and that of the survivors.

Leeching frenzy is an excellent healing passive, it can be purged so make sure to reactivate it after ghouls decide to strip you from your buffs before using your consumers.

Immortal Spirit provides you with a somewhat reliable way to activate Thirst/Equilibrium/Coney island band.

Martial Discipline gives you a 50% chance to glance incoming hits, abilities that are glanced take no effect, so impairs have a 50% chance to fail, in addition every glance will incur a small healing affect that can critically heal and activate Thirst/Equilibrium/Coney island band.

First! Jk, thanks for the build!

    • Ciritty

      Hope it helps!

    Hey Critty,

Ok, All my gear is close to .5.5 with the exception
of a couple pieces and I have purple laceration on head, purple thirst
and equilibrium on minors and for my weapons i have a blue breaching on
sword and blue castigation on hammer. Here’s where the dilemma lies, no
issues with survivability, in fact I only run ~500 HR and manage to stay
alive quite easily and will soon be looking at lowering my block
because killing things fast is just so beneficial. However I cant decide
on the signets for my weapons. The castigation really isn’t all that
necessary, I have 363 hit on my head and that seems more then enough. A
couple good damage signets would be aggression or abuse but since my
hammer attacks always land on EF these signets become “useless”, their
up time is less then 8seconds and there c/d is greater then 8seconds and
so effectively I would only be buffing my builders every second
rotation. My question is would it be advisable to throw the breaching on
my hammer and aggression or abuse on my blade? The only downside would
be the possibility that breaching did not proc on my hammer attacks but
my Pen is just over 1000 so for the hammer aoe it procs fairly reliably.

    • Ciritty

For some reason this comment never showed up in my feed, apologies for the late respond… It really doesn’t matter what signet you put on hammer! It just won’t proc often enough to matter. I just prefer castigation for no particular reason (it was on my hammer for PVP) I guess put whatever you would use when using your hammer elsewhere.

Having used this build (with the iron maiden for resilient defender subsitution you recommend) for quite a while. I just today made some changes which I think work really well for me at least. I replaced Mockingbird with Trucker. Can’t slot mending, but a purple amelioration made up for that and I can slot an accurate augment on trucker comfortably to make up for the lost attack rating. Trucker is such a fantastic skill! Very good defensive buff on a short cooldown and I just love dashing about with it. Very versatile! I practically use it on cooldown, compared to martial discipline which I tend to save up for when I might need it really badly and thus use fairly rarely, basically wasting a slot half the time. Plus trucker does a little dmg as well!
The second change I made was replacing martial discipline with full momentum. Trucker kind of replaces martial discipline as a defensive cooldown, and full momentum is really great and versatile as well, providing you with a free 5 res hammer consumer, be it aoe or single target. Love it. It’s an offensive choice, maybe depending on scenario difficulty martial disc will go back in. But killing things before they can hurt you is always good and consumers provide a lot of healing through leeching frenzy as well.

    • Ciritty

That’s right, this is my personal setup:
It goes a little further than what you’re doing now :p

The build on TSWDB is designed to be optimal for most players in mind. Those that get used to running scenarios should try to be more offensive.

      • Dominus Deus

What auxiliary do you use with that build?

        • Ciritty

DFA I’ve also taken a liking of taking doom instead of iron maiden and Dragon’s breath.

  • Grumzag

what’s the default build ? The one described with pics or the one with VDM string

    • Ciritty

The one displayed here, but try out Iron maiden as well!
      (sucks at updating VDM strings).

      • Grumzag

        Thanks a lot.
Will work on a .4.4 set for that :)

  • Ciritty

Updated build, fixed vdm link added bloodsport due to the “blade hate fixes” and bloodsports ability to apply before the hit.

    • Ronan

i guess you replaced “perfect storm” by “bloodsports” but i don’t anderstand why ?

      • Ciritty

You can open a fight with Clearing the path and benefit from the 40% increased penetration chance by using bloodsport. This way you don’t have to use a builder first!!!

        • Ronan

Another question , why still using blade torrent then ? isn’t there any better builder ?

          • Ciritty

No there isn’t, blade torrent still does more aggro than other builders and the other blade frenzy builder does nothing else!

  • Eames

Hi Critty, Thanks for the guide.

I’ve been quite a dilemma and could use some advice.
Should have more than 3 healing passives in my deck for nightmare or keep two (Leeching Frenzy and Immortal Spirit) and place in a more dps passive.

Also, is resilient defender a better passive than Advantage Me or Circulation? I feel like the I am not blocking as much, or would I be blocking more in nightmares solos, which I’m currently been struggling.

    • Ciritty

The only reason to use a heal over time effect is to proc thirst/equilibrium… if you don’t have those use resilient defender instead. If you do have those increase your dps. Laceration signet, Iron maiden will help you. You can further enhance your dps output by switching CcC for Gross anatomy at the cost of survivability.

  • armahir

    Hi Ciritty,
always love’s your build. Tried that and had no real trouble surviving in Elite Group [solo]. Am using Cruel Delight signet [which proc really often on mobs groups] and Equil/Thirst.
Dunno if it’s “normal” but I’ve been forced to use “a lot” of potions/Karma [maybe not moving enough?] but was able to solo it with no real risk of failure.

Just….while most of people are using EF I find my self hating that one on survival situation and find also more DPS output with sudden return.
Plus I feel doing more pen with Body Piercing than Iron Maiden (running with only 650 initial pen]

    Stats : 2.9k AR / 5.6K HP / 950HR / 530Block / 460 CR / 150CP [+Coney Island]
    Tali Signets : Breaching – Amelioration – Vigour – Thirst – Equilibrium – Salvation
Weapon : Cruel Delight – Temperance [was previously running fury / temperance]

  • alkeiser

what kind of talisman/glyph setup can give that kind of stats? i’ve played around with setups and they all come up short in some area

  • Nuan Li Yuu

Hey! So I’ve been aiming for this build for a while, and I had a rough time figuring out the stats and what to put where! So I made a chart here for gear, (Also showing the differences between 10 epics and 10.4).

Does anyone have any further suggestions for adjusting?
