This is an upgraded version of the On A Pale Horse (49 AP) build, fit for those who have progressed to a later stage of the game and have accumulated more Ability Points to get more effective abilities.

Salt in the Wound

When you can afford the “Sudden Return” passive ability, and you have a decent amount of Penetration Rating, you should replace “Salt in the Wound” with that one.

The build boosts damage through affliction and has a few abilities that set impaired and hindered state on enemies.

Use Maelstrom as your Chaos consumer when facing multiple enemies, and Four Horsemen when you face a single strong enemy.

This passive will cause your target to become afflicted whenever you hit, with any ability at all. Beware that if you glance, the entire effect will be removed from them. Make sure to get enough Hit Rating. Anima potions can be useful to increase your Hit Rating. You can view the crafting pattern for those over here.

Bloodsport will proc Gross Anatomy with every attack, increasing your damage by a lot.

I am in love with this spec and the starter spec. It’s the funnest one I’ve tried so far for soloing.

I’ve been looking to get back into TSW(like obsessively) and I think this will be the build I’ll go for.

Been having fun with this build, im in Transylvania currently. I didnt really like the shotgu tho, felt like I could use a bit more survivability so I swapped shotgun for fists. I alternate the fist consumer between surgical steel when I need the heal and hog wild when I dont. considering dropping illusion so I can have both on the bar all the time as I rarely actually use it. Can solo the airport area in kinsgmouth like that so im working on signets atm too.

    Thanks for sharing the build.

Any reason why you’d want to use Four Horsemen instead of Pulling the Strings?

  • I feel like I’m missing something here–Out for a Kill gives a bonus to pen for turrets and the like, but this build doesn’t use any. I’m not sure there’s a better single-target shotgun ability for this build, but why go shotgun at all? It’s a solid build but I feel like the shotgun is arbitrary. I’ve used builds similar to this but with AR or blade to exploit afflicted state.
