This build has been specially made to introduce you to some interesting and effective synergy while dealing with the AEGIS system.

This build is primarily chaos, Pulling the string allows for a minimum use of hit rating as it grants you minor hit chance.

Engage combat with your builder then follow up with Clearing the path to benefit from the penetrating hit chance bonus. Follow up with pulling the strings before starting the standard 5 builder 2 consumer rotation.

Healing comes primarily from regeneration which at 600 heal rating is a healing over time effect that heals 2300 hp over 10 seconds every 45 seconds, and turn the tables as additional heal button.

Using grass cutter when dealing with an enemy that has 2 AEGIS shields will help, replace for Helter Skelter or Turn the tables.

Impairs are available in the build because they’re great, don’t let the enemy cast psychic renewal.

While leeching effects don’t work on shields most of the times you’ll be able to breach them fast enough to make use of leeching frenzy, when this isn’t the case you can replace it for more damage.

“Engage combat with Clearing the path, build once and follow up with
pulling the strings before starting the standard 5 builder 2 consumer

If you engage directly with clearing the path, you do not get the increased penetration chance, cause mobs will be unafflicted.

    • Ciritty

Tihi you’d be surprised at my knowledge regarding combat! :p Try using CtP with bloodsport as affliction before the mob has an affliction applied and while you’re at it check if iron maiden procs on that initial penetrating hit ;)

Have fun with your new found scenario power :D

      • Rudollis

Interesting. So afflictions affect the target before the hit that triggers the affliction hits. That’s just bonkers :o

        • Ciritty

No just bloodsport, afflictions in general do not!

          • Asquiol Smith

I’ve been testing this out, and it looks like this may have been “fixed” so that Bloodsport acts like all of the other afflicts w.r.t. CtP. Same for Iron Maiden; it no longer seems to proc on an opening CtP (when the CtP penetrates). Anyone want to verify this? (Update 1.11.2)

          • Ciritty

I’ve verified this a patch ago – seems I forgot to remove of from this guide (other guides should be reflecting this already) Thanks! :3 (Yes CTP no longer gains additional pen on applying bloodsport if the target is not afflicted already).

  • Dominus Deus

Why Escalation? There are plenty of better AoE builders (e.g. Forking Paths). Why no single target builder? Their damage and utility is immense.

    • Ciritty

Because it’s primarily chaos for the sake of being primarily chaos :p Can’t make all builds primarily blade… Blade is too awesome for solo so will generally be best to take to get optimal results (It’s an example build for a reason etc)!

You don’t generally need a single target builder but the guide does suggest it
“Using grass cutter when dealing with an enemy that has 2 AEGIS shields will help, replace for Helter Skelter or Turn the tables.”

      • Dominus Deus

Thanks. I just started and still trying to put together a proper build.

  • Maria Copeland

Adding just a bit of Evade rating plus the passive really makes a difference in survivability.

    • Ciritty

Probability and evade rating works ofcourse and if you want to do so that’s fine! But I usually assume green/blue QL gear and it would be more efficient to spend your rating on offense! But what’s efficient isn’t necessarily what’s best for everyone, builds don’t work for everyone!

  • Andrew Filonov

Why you use Clearing the Path instead ChopShop?
    5 hits 28-42 (base value) vs 58-118

    • Vikestart

Because Clearing the Path has a +40% penetration chance against afflicted target, which makes it incredibly powerful :)

      • Andrew Filonov

        Actually no :)

        i was analyze combat logs.

        Clearing the Path: 3hits for 3332dmg (avg 1110.67) evaded 0 (0.0%) crit 1 (33.3%) penetration 1 (33.3%)
Critical Normal Penetrated physical: 1hits with 1704dmg (avg 1704.00)
Normal Blocked physical: 1hits with 643dmg (avg 643.00)
Normal Normal physical: 1hits with 985dmg (avg 985.00)

Chop Shop up to twice more effective

        Chop Shop: 15hits for 5539dmg (avg 369.27) evaded 0 (0.0%) crit 1 (6.7%) penetration 3 (20.0%)
Critical Normal Normal physical: 1hits with 409dmg (avg 409.00)
Normal Penetrated physical: 3hits with 1550dmg (avg 516.67)
Glancing Normal physical: 1hits with 136dmg (avg 136.00)
Normal Normal physical: 10hits with 3444dmg (avg 344.40)

        Two Cuts: 6hits for 516dmg (avg 86.00) evaded 0 (0.0%) crit 0 (0.0%) penetration 1 (16.7%)
Normal Normal physical: 5hits with 395dmg (avg 79.00)
Normal Penetrated physical: 1hits with 121dmg (avg 121.00)

Two Cuts ability apply damage for even hits and don’t work for CtP

ChopShop+StunningSwirl completely eliminate pack of mobs in Kaidan.

But i can’t do same with CtP.

        • Ciritty

Chop shop is a cool ability, if you want to use it and it works for you that’s fine!

Regarding it’s effectiveness the way you showed is not really how you compare the 2 abilities when trying for DPS. You can’t calculate the damage of something that takes 2.5seconds vs something that takes 1 second they have different things going for them as well. I’m not going to write a wall of text but the reason I propose Clearing the path over Chop Shop is basically because your elite won’t be up every time you use chop shop and sometimes you will have to move away from your target while using chop shop – this happens more often in Tokyo than not – and that matters for people in blue QL10 gear or less.

  • Aeon

Hi! What signets are useful with this build?

    • Ciritty

Heya! You should leave signets for the gear you also use in dungeons and scenarios or even PVP! That said Laceration always works on head Thirst, equilibrium for minors and breaching/aggression on weapons.

      • Aeon

OK, thanks! I will try this.

  • Chester Rico

Hey Ciritty, did Funcom go ahead and steal this build for the Agent of Chaos deck? ;)

Been soloing a while with a similar build now. Haven’t felt the urge to try something different in a while, so gj.

    • Ciritty

Heya! I have no idea what the decks look like… just ignoring them completely outside of outfits, though the “Elite” decks look like my Tokyo builds, they may have gotten inspiration there but never told me anythhing about it so could be a coincidence too. :p

      • Chester Rico

Yeah it looks like they pretty much copied the decks from your Tokyo guide for the elite decks.

  • Fogwoman Gray

Gah. Going nuts looking for “strange attractor” – finally googled it and discovered it was removed and replaced with Gravitational Anomaly. Still a good alternative to Domino Effect?

    • Vikestart

      Nope, absolutely not. :P

  • Digi

I don’t entirely understand the point of Pulling The Strings, so I’ve taken with replacing it with Bamboo Cutter, for use since I’m just breaking into Kaidan and don’t have all my Aegises yet. It helps me work down the shields of enemies with more than one Aegis.
