Mission Description: A wraith from Montag's past has come back to do more than just haunt him. The headmaster knows that in the realm of the Peacock King, blood calls for blood. However, Carter and Ms Usher aren't willing to let him pay the ultimate price.

This mission requires you to have completed The Faculty and Science and the Arts.

Tier 1

Task Description: It may be possible to exorcise the wraith without giving it the headmaster's life. However, there's no way to get around the fact that his blood will be needed.

Objective: Collect a syringe from the first aid kit

Use the first aid kit on the floor by Carter

Objective: Collect a sample of Hayden Montag's blood

Approach Hayden Montag and ensure that you target him with your reticle. Once Montag has been targeted, blood will be drawn and you will receive a vial of Montag's blood as well as a newfound sense of closeness with Hayden Montag. Congratulations!

Tier 2

Task Description: Montag has never been one for compromise. The crisis has made him more macabre than ever, more determined to pay for his mistakes. Carry out your own research and ease the headmaster's burden.

Objective: Research wraiths in the library

Go to the library (275,375) and check out the book "Extradimensional Assassins 101 (Revised Ed.)" on the table closest to the eastern library entrance.

Objective: Acquire an occult spectrometer

Objective: Acquire a mirror from the supply closet

Acquire an Occult Spectrometer

Pick up the Occult Spectrometer kit (245,400) from the Magical Theory classroom.

Acquire a Mirror

Take the mirror from a box in the supply closet (280,295) near the front entrance of the school.

Tier 3

Task Description: Wraiths are able to pass through mirrors. Use the occult spectrometer to track down the wraith somewhere on the Innsmouth Academy grounds. Then use the knowledge you have to summon and defeat it.

Objective: Use the occult spectrometer to locate the wraith

Use the [Occult spectrometer] item from within your Mission Inventory or Quick Access Inventory. This will cause it to send out a single series of 5 quick pulses in the direction of the Wraith. The energy will land at the Wraith's location and cause the ground to pulse with a ring of dark energy for a second.

Follow the direction of the energy pulses as they lead to a wall (330,440) near the front entrance of the Innsmouth Academy campus. Each time the Occult Spectrometer is used, it will send out a set of pulsing energy. Use the Occult Spectrometer freely and keep a close eye on the beam.

Objective: Spray Montag's blood around the area

Use [Montag's blood] from within your Mission Inventory or Quick Access Inventory to pour it on the ground.

Objective: Place the mirror on the ground

Use the [Mirror] from within your Mission Inventory or Quick Access Inventory. This will immediately allow the wraith to manifest at that location.

Objective: Defeat the wraith and then smash the mirror

The ritual has brought forth Mal'un, the Accursed. Defeat Mal'un and then destroy the Mirror. Mal'un is level 21 with 3348 HP. The Mirror is destructible with 500 HP.

The Mirror is destructible with 500 HP and can only be smashed once the defeated Mal'un has escaped into it. If not destroyed after 30 seconds, the Mirror will despawn. A despawned Mirror will still be considered a destroyed Mirror for the purposes of progressing to Tier 4.

Fail Tier 3

Task Description: Mal'un, the Accursed has disappeared. Use the spectrometer to find him again.

Fail Objective: Use the occult spectrometer to locate the wraith

Return to the location the occult spectrometer indicated against the Innsmouth Academy walls (330,440). If you are not certain of where this is, using the [Occult spectrometer] item from within your Mission Inventory or Quick Access Inventory will lead the way.

This objective will only occur if Mal'un, the Accursed is not defeated during Tier 3 of To Sir, With Love.

Tier 4

Task Description: Mal'un, the Accursed has disappeared. Use the spectrometer to find him again.

Objective: Use the spectrometer to locate the wraith

Use the [Occult spectrometer] and follow its signal to a mirror. The wraith will be located in a mirror in one of four rooms:

• Summoning Theory (285,350)
• Familiar Lab (265,340)
• Demonology (295,340)
• Cryptozoology (270,330)

Approaching the mirror will cause Mal'un, the Accursed to appear.

Objective: Force Mal'un, the Accursed to flee into mirrors and then destroy them

Force Mal'un, the Accursed to flee into mirrors by defeating him in combat, and then destroy the 500 HP destructible mirror that he fled into until the mirrors in the Summoning Theory, Familiar Lab, Demonology, and Cryptozoology classrooms have all been destroyed.

Use the [Occult spectrometer] and follow its signal to one of the mirrors. Each classroom has slightly different mechanics when encountering Mal'un, the Accursed. The classroom is randomly determined each time out of the pool of remaining classrooms with intact mirrors.

All versions of Mal'un, the Accursed are capable of casting Scythe Through. Scythe Through is a 6 second PBAoE cast that simultaneously snares the wraith's target with the Scythe Through debuff for the duration of the cast. Anyone within the wraith's Scythe Through radius at the end of the spell cast will be Knocked Down for 5 seconds and dealt damage.

For every mirror smashed and destroyed, Mal'un the Accursed gains 1 stack of the Glass Swords debuff, which increases Mal'un's critical chance while lowering the wraith's defence rating.

Each Mirror is destructible and has 500 HP. If a Mirror is not destroyed within 30 seconds after Mal'un has fled into it, the Mirror will become non-targetable until the wraith inside is defeated again.

Summoning Theory Mirror

Use the [Occult spectrometer] and follow its signal to the mirror (285,350) in the Summoning Theory classroom. Defeat Mal'un, the Accursed and then destroy the mirror. Mal'un, the Accursed has 3714 HP.

Cryptozoology Mirror

Use the [Occult spectrometer] and follow its signal to the mirror (270,330) in the Cryptozoology classroom. Approach the mirror, defeat the wraith, and destroy the mirror. Mal'un, the Accursed has 3714 HP.

Demonology Mirror

Use the [Occult spectrometer] again and follow its signal to the mirror (295,340) in the Demonology classroom. Mal'un will periodically cast Flicker to teleport around. Mal'un, the Accursed has 3714 HP.

Familiar Lab Mirror

Use the [Occult spectrometer] once more and follow its signal to the mirror (265,340) in the Familiar Lab. Mal'un, the Accursed has the Mirror Clone ability and creates two duplicates of itself when it spawns. Each Mal'un, the Accursed has 969 HP. One of the wraiths is the real Mal'un and will be the only one with any stacks of Glass Swords.

The two extra wraiths will vanish after 20 seconds if they are not defeated before 20 seconds have passed.

Defeat the real Mal'un, the Accursed. Destroy the Mirror.

Tier 5

Task Description: Soon there will be nowhere left for the accursed to flee.

Objective: Use the spectrometer to locate where the wraith has gone

Use the Occult Spectrometer and follow the direction of its signal to the Media Lab (260,405), where a mirror awaits. Mal'un, the Accursed wastes no time and attacks as soon as you step into the Media Lab.

Objective: Defeat Mal'un, the Accursed and trap him in the projector

Mal'un, the Accursed is now Level 21 with 4018 HP and 5 stacks of Glass Swords. The Mirror is immediately attackable as a destructible with 500 HP.

Destroy the Mirror first while Ma'un, the Accursed attacks. Focus on defeating the wraith only after the Mirror has been destroyed.

With the Mirror destroyed and nowhere left to flee, the defeated Mal'un will go into the projected image on the wall.

Objective: Turn off the projector and take the slide with the wraith in it

Turn off the projector within 20 seconds. If the projector is not turned off in time, Mal'un, the Accursed will emerge and attack. If the wraith has been freed from the projection, defeat it again to chase it back inside for another chance to turn the projector off.

Tier 6

Task Description: The wraith is now trapped inside the slide. There's only one man who will know best what to do with it.

Objective: Give the slide to Hayden Montag

The [Projector slide] in your Mission Inventory can be used to look at the slide's contents. Looking at the slide is not necessary to give it to Hayden Montag, but it is possible to take a look at the scene the wraith has been captured into.

Return to Hayden Montag (305,370) and closely approach to give the [Projector slide] to him.
