on June 17, 2023.Mission Description: Most of the ancient wards that protect Innsmouth Academy have been disabled. Familiars are running free and predators are entering - and leaving - the academy grounds. The wards feed on anima and must be reactivated in order to control the chaos and protect the island.
Task Description: The wards in and around the academy must be reactivated. Pick up the anima manipulator from the nearby desk and examine the functioning wards at the office door. Then test to make sure the familiars are being kept out.
Pick up the W.A.N.D. Anima Manipulator from the desk. This will place the [W.A.N.D. Anima Manipulator] in your Mission Inventory.
Go to the Illuminati ward in the threshold of the door (290,370).
Engage any of the nearby Familiars around the Academy in combat without killing them and cross the word while the Familiars are following. As soon as the Familiars touch the ward, they will die violently and release anima charges.
If your level is too high to cause Familiars to attack on-sight, attack them with an ability that doesn't deal as much damage, such as a Basic Ability, to ensure they don't die before they can be lured to the ward. If necessary, adjust your Anima Allocation away from Damage.
Task Description: The wards at the office work. Time to restore the rest.The wards can be temporarily powered with anima shards. Use the manipulator to assemble the shards from the anima contained within familiars. Be sure to test them to make sure they are activated!
Collect 5 Anima Charges from familiars by picking up the glowing anima orbs released by dead familiars. Any familiar killed while on this mission will drop anima charges on death regardless of whether you used the ward or killed the familiars directly. Any [Anima charge] acquired will be placed in the Mission Inventory.
Use the [W.A.N.D. Anima Manipulator] from either your Mission Inventory or Quick Access Inventory to combine the 5 x [Anima charges] into 1 x [Anima shard] by Shaping Anima. No, this anima shard cannot be used as currency.
Go to the east gate (350,405). It has since been ripped away and no ward is in sight. The ward must first be restored.
Use the Anima Shard at the east gate to cast Activate wards and restore the ward at that location. Only after the anima shard has been consumed to repair the ward will the ward be visible.
Activated wards will last for 1 minute 30 seconds before deactivating. If this occurs, create another Anima shard to use at the gate and reactivate the ward.
Engage familiars and bring them over the ward.
Go to the west gate (190,355) in the back of the school grounds. The gate is intact, but the ward is not. The ward must first be restored.
Use an Anima Shard at the west gate to consume the shard and restore the gate's ward.
Engage familiars and allow them to cross the ward.
Task Description: The wards by the gates are secured. Next, you should restore the wards by the three entrances to the main academy building. Charge the manipulator if necessary. (Seven active anima charges are required to use the anima manipulator)
Restore the drained wards of the Northern (245,420), Southern (280,330), and Eastern (300,390) entrances to the main academy building.
A minimum of 15 Anima Charges converted into 3 Anima Shards are are required to restore all three of the drained academy entrance wards.
NOTE: Despite what the Mission Journal says, Anima Shards still require 5 Anima Charges, not 7. Its text is a vestige of an older form of this Mission.
Use an Anima shard to activate the ward at the Northern (245,420) Academy Entrance.
Use an Anima shard to activate the ward at the Southern (280,330) Academy Entrance.
Use an Anima shard to activate the ward at the Eastern (300,390) Academy Entrance.
Task Description: Many of the wards have been restored, however the effects are only temporary. The main ward in the library still needs time to recharge. Be careful - activating this ward may enrage nearby familiars.
Go to the library in the center of the first floor of Innsmouth Academy (265,375) and use the Anima Focus in the middle of the room. This will activate the ward and attract anima-crazed familiars into the library.
Defend the library for 02:00 minutes while the Anima Focus charges the South, West, North, and then East side of the Ward in that order. A visible beam of anima will stream from the Anima Focus to stone Illuminati sigils in each doorway.
Each part of the ward takes 30 seconds to fully charge. Waves of Crazed Familiars will attack in a continued assault all while the ward recharges. A recharged side of the ward will kill any Crazed Familiars that attempt to enter the library from its direction, so Crazed Familiars will only ever successfully enter the library where the ward is not yet charged.
All four sides are fully recharged once the Ward Charge timer successfully reaches 00:00.
The mission is complete when the library ward is recharged.
Task Description: The familiars prevented the library ward from fully charging. Try again.
Wait 30 seconds for the ward to recharge.
This objective will only appear if you fail to defend the library by dying or by deliberately moving out of the area's range while the assault is active.
After 30 seconds have passed, this goal will automatically complete. You will be returned to the start of Tier 4 and tasked with the goal to Activate the ward in the library.
